A letter from Auburn Valley Humane Society
Dated September 2019
Dear Cindy and Nick,
On behalf of the Auburn Valley Humane Society, I would like to thank you for your recent donation of $1500 worth of pet food, treats, baby food, toys, kleenex, snugsafe, feliway for cats, and dry dog food. It was a most generous donation and the puppies and the kitties appreciate your donations and your support.
Our mission is to enrich the lives of companion animals and people through animal sheltering, programs, services and community engagement. Over the six years AHVS has been in existence, we have made improvements to our facility, processes and procedures, and found thousands of forever homes for animals that have come into our care. It takes a lot of food to feed the over 61 animals that are currently in the shelter. Because of your donation, you have helped save many more lives.
To continue our work, this year we have begun our Pets in Crisis to help pets of low-income residents and to provide for unforeseen medical emergencies. Due to increased pet food sales at the AVHS Thrift Sale, we are able to provide funding for one-time financial veterinary assistance for those individuals with lower income levels living in the city limits of Auburn. Also this year, we are continuing to provide low-cost spay and neuter programs, provide healthy food for cats and dogs in low-income senior homes, and these are just a few of the programs that your donation will help to subsidize for Hunter and all of the lost, abandoned or homeless animals that come under our care.
Every animal that is housed at our shelter until they are adopted to a loving home, receive medical and dental care, are spayed or neutered, and microchipped during their stay. Throughout the year, we adopt over two thousand animals to their forever homes and the reason for this is you. Thank you for your support of our efforts to give each and every shelter animal the best start to a future in a loving home.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support and helping us succeed in our mission to enrich the lives of companion animals and people through animal sheltering, programs, services and community engagement.
Many thanks,
Sharon LaVine
